Who we are
Idaho Mobile Notary Signing Agent, LLC is a private business based in Meridian, Idaho. Jim Allen is an Idaho notary public and has been since 2018.
We are not a government agency. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of the California Department of Justice, the FBI, the State of Idaho, or any other state or federal agency.
What this service is
We capture your fingerprints in Idaho using our own Live Scan equipment and transmit them electronically to a California partner agency, which submits them for your California background check.
We handle the capture and the submission workflow. We do not decide the outcome of your background check, we do not issue results, and we cannot influence them. Results are determined by the state and released to the agency that requested the check.
What this service is not
- It is not legal advice. We are not attorneys. We cannot advise you on your record, your licensing requirements, or what your results mean.
- We cannot tell you what is on your criminal record, and neither can the technicians who process it.
- We do not prepare, draft, or review legal documents.
Pricing
$349 for a single applicant. $299 per person when two or more people are fingerprinted at the same stop, provided everyone has their completed form and valid photo ID ready at the appointment.
That price includes travel within our service area, fingerprint capture, ID verification, data entry, submission handling, and government fees up to $75. If the fees required by your agency come to more than $75, you pay only the difference, and we confirm that with you before anything is submitted.
We accept credit and debit cards, cash, and company checks made out to Idaho Notary Signing Agent, LLC. We do not accept personal checks. Prices are subject to change; the price quoted to you at booking is the price you pay.
Your appointment
To be fingerprinted you need a valid government-issued photo ID and the completed request form provided by the California agency asking for your background check. Without both, we cannot submit.
If you need to reschedule, call or text as early as you can. If we arrive and the appointment can't go ahead because the required paperwork or ID isn't there, a return visit may be charged.
Timing
Appointments usually take 30 to 45 minutes and prints are submitted the same day. Results are typically returned to the requesting agency within about three to four days of submission.
These are estimates based on typical experience, not guarantees. Processing time is controlled by the state and the requesting agency, and can be longer for reasons outside our control — including print quality, database matches requiring manual review, and errors on the request form.
Service area
Ada and Canyon County, Idaho, roughly within 20 miles of Meridian. Outside that, call us and we'll tell you honestly whether we can help.
Limitation
Our responsibility is limited to the service we performed and the amount you paid for it. We are not responsible for decisions made by any agency, for processing delays outside our control, or for consequences of a missed deadline where the delay was not caused by us.
