This page explains what happens to the information you give us through this website. It is written in plain English on purpose.
What we collect
If you fill in the contact form, we collect the name, phone number, and (if you choose to give them) the email address, city, timing, and notes you type in.
We also record technical information that comes along with your visit: the page you were on, the site that referred you, and the Google click identifier (GCLID) if you arrived from one of our Google ads. That identifier tells us which ad brought you here. It does not tell us who you are.
We do not collect your Social Security number, driver's licence number, or any part of your background check through this website. Identity documents are checked in person at your appointment and are not stored on this site.
Why we collect it
To call or text you back about the appointment you asked for, and to understand which ads bring in real enquiries so we don't waste money on ones that don't. That's it.
What we do with it
- Your enquiry is emailed and texted to Jim Allen so he can get back to you.
- We use it to schedule and carry out the service you asked about.
- We do not sell your information. We do not rent it. We do not share it with anyone for their own marketing.
Who else touches it
A small number of service providers handle this information on our behalf, only so the site works:
- Vercel hosts this website and processes the form submission.
- Resend delivers the notification email.
- Twilio delivers the notification text message.
- Google receives anonymous, aggregated measurement about ad clicks and conversions. We do not send Google your name, phone number, or email address through this site.
Separately, if you go on to book a background check, your fingerprints and the information on your California request form are handled under that service, not under this website's policy. That process is explained to you at the appointment.
Cookies and similar technology
Google's advertising tag sets a cookie on this domain to measure whether an ad click led to an enquiry. We also briefly store the Google click identifier in your browser's session storage so it survives while you move around the page. It is cleared when you close the tab.
You can block or delete these through your browser settings. The page still works without them.
How long we keep it
Enquiries are kept in Jim's email and phone for as long as they are useful for serving you and for our business records. If you'd like yours deleted, ask and we'll do it.
Your choices
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask for a copy, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email hello@idahonotarysigningagent.com or call (208) 826-1210 and we'll take care of it. We won't treat you differently for asking.
Children
This site is not directed at children and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 13 through it.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it.
